ALMA day 2010
29 - 30 April 2010: ALMA community day
The Italian ALMA Regional Centre organizes an ALMA Community day. The aim is to inform the Italian astronomical community of the latest developments of the ALMA project. Next year it will be possible to perform the first scientific observations with the array, albeit with a limited number of antennas, configurations, and receivers. It is important to be well prepared for this opportunity of "Early Science", and therefore we have invited several experts to talk about the impact of ALMA on various fields of astronomical research, and about how to prepare observing proposals. The programme is shown below.
Place and date
The ALMA day will be held in the seminar room on the 4th floor of the Istituto di Radioastronomia on the CNR campus, from Thursday 29 April 14:00 to Friday 30 April 12:30. Directions to the campus and the Institute can be found here.
Registration
There is room for about 40-50 participants. To avoid seating problems we ask you to register. If necessary additional registrations will be put on a waiting list. The deadline for registration is 16 April 2010.
Accommodation
Participants should arrange their own accommodation. See here for a list of hotels with special agreements with the Area della Ricerca di Bologna.
