ALMA Data Handling Workshop
27-29 January 2016 - Area della Ricerca Bologna, Italy
The Italian node of the ALMA Regional Centre is organizing a course for researchers, post-doc and students that are interested in dealing with data from the Atacama Large Millimeter Array. The aim of the course is to provide basics to approach the ALMA data, being them delivered from the telescope to PIs or mined in the ALMA Science Archive, to use the ALMA tools available, and to understand the process of data reduction, from the raw data to the image production.
For this purpose the program will include seminars to introduce ALMA and the fundamentals of interferometry and tutorials on data calibration and imaging with the Common Astronomy Software Applications (CASA) package. Participants will be requested to work on their own laptops. Details on CASA versions and data downloads will be communicated later to the registered participants.
