29 - 30 April 2010: ALMA community day
The Italian ALMA Regional Centre organizes an ALMA Community day. The aim is to inform the Italian astronomical community of the latest developments of the ALMA project. Next year it will be possible to perform the first scientific observations with the array, albeit with a limited number of antennas, configurations, and receivers. It is important to be well prepared for this opportunity of "Early Science", and therefore we have invited several experts to talk about the impact of ALMA on various fields of astronomical research, and about how to prepare observing proposals. The programme is shown below.

The Italian ARC is one of the six nodes that constitute the European network that will provide technical and scientific support to ALMA users.
The nodes will be operating in close collaboration with each other and with the central node at ESO, Garching. Each node contributes its own specific expertise, in order to ensure that maximum advantage is taken of the European competences in the field of mm-astronomy and interferometry.
Once ALMA is fully operational, the Italian ARC intends to fullfill its duties regarding face-to-face help and computing support.
